What have you been doing with altoids cans lately? (not necessarily altoids)

I have been using them for altoids, yes.

>Not retarded answer
I only use them for small storage, like rubber bands or spare keys. Havent done any electronics with them yet

Nice. But I'd rather have transparent containers.

Housing for a voltage booster to run my laptop off a car battery jumper-pack. Problem is it seems to create severe noise that makes my capacitors whine and ALSO at close to full wattage draw (90watts) it seems to shut off every few seconds even though it's claimed to do 150 watts by the ebay seller. A larger RF choke (already have a small one) might help the noise but idk why it's shutting down or how to fix that

I put a double layer of duct tape on the inside of the tin. But for this one >>1270953 I used nice little nylon standoffs and nylon nuts and bolts. This one >>1270962 though, was weird because even thought I insulated the inside bottom with tape, it turned out to be the corners of the board that I rounded off that were shorting out against the tin, so I put tape on the inside corners as well.

This is actually pretty badass idea.

Nothing cause im broke. But a kind anon suared uavfuture's $99 fpv drone build. Then i came accross his $200 setup you can put together.

I already have a transmitter and reciever i paid like $500 for but i might just stick to the script for the first build or two.

Wanna make a few if it's fun so my buddies can crash up one and maybe buy at cost.

Get a few of these out there.

I got like 300+ acres of cattle land around me and time at work to set up strategic charge pads or return to home button. I imagine with some dedication i could get pretty good very quickly. Pretty excited at any rate.

I was led to belive this fbv shit was still in the thousand dollar plus range.

Hell they make cheapshit $80 ones. Bit i have a lot of wind to contend with

Too much heat? Too much draw? Maybe borrow another jump pack and tie in. Buy another if its fixed.

>> No.1270983

what kind of tools did you use to make it? I have a few bucks to spend and wanted to maybe make a little remote or something. Aviation snips, drill, hot glue, etc. How'd you make the rectangular holes? I was also thinking about going ahead and getting a hand seamer and rivet gun so I could make some larger boxes for other projects in the future.

It's not the heat, when I touch it the heatsinks are barely even warm. I can't imagine it being too much draw since the jump pack is rated for something like 125 amps continuous output at 12v. But I'm actually building a 18650 pack so when it's done I'll try using that since it's gonna have quite a few more amps. I think the voltage converter is just a POS, someone said something about the inductor being saturated, I failed Physics 2 in college so idk what that's about but I'm trying to learn.

Raspi3 can reach 212F when playing HD video, so some shiny copper was implemented. And yes you need tweezers to remove the SD card but my mother uses it for Kodi steaming so she never needs to remove it.

What's the point of altoids tins now that CAD and 3D printing is so accessible. It's incredibly easy and fun to design a way better custom enclosure rather than fiddle with tin snips and files.

It believe it was an assortment of small greeting cards from like, Michael's craft store or something. My mom had it laying around and she needed to stop spending so much on cable TV, so I made her a Kodi box. No VPN yet and none of our torrents or streams have caused her to get a letter yet. I figure I'll get her a VPN after her first warning, Comcast gives you 3 before shutting off service I think.

You don't get warnings for streaming, only downloading flagged torrents. As long as your using exodus or flixnet addons you'll be fine, unless they decide to change the law, or something.
