So I was extremely pissed about a month ago and I managed to do this to the wall in my apartment. Lease is up in 7 days and I need to fix it
before then. I'm not very good with any kind of carpenter projects. Help me out? It's a wood panel wall it's not made out of actual wooden boards the material seems pretty cheap.

can you get behind it? if you've got all the pieces and some wood glue...

>> No.1247746

It is cheap particle board wainscoting. Quell your adolescent rage, measure the size of the panel, take your photo to the home improvement retailer of your choice and request it be cut to the size you slammed your frustrated little fists into, then simply replace the damaged piece, using small finish nails.

Fill the nail holes with white caulk for bonus points.

I can't get behind it without breaking through the other side lol. I think the rest of the pieces may be in between the walls I'm not sure I can't see. How would I even get them out. Or is there replacement material I can buy?

>> No.1247748

just cover the whole wall with wallpaper and hang a picture over it

You are a pathetic child. Go ask your mommy for more money and give it to the nice landlord. Cry yourself to sleep. You don't have the skills for this because no one loved your mother enough to stay married to her. Ask her why she picked such a shitty father for you.

Forego you deposit, use it as a lesson, and seek professional help.

LMAO get some expanding spray foam and just empty the cans in the holes.

once expanded and cured take a rasp to it, cheese grater will work too if you don't have a rasp

get some bondo and put on a coat and sand it smooth

paint and no one will ever know unless they go to put a nail into it.

now lets wait for the landlords on /diy/ to start bitching

Just buy a sheet of paneling, have the store cut to size, install and paint. (You can see that shit has had a few repairs in the past...).

i don't know what you want someone to do other than come over and do it for you.
over here we call it hardboard, if you look around you can get it with the pattern already and probably painted too.
next time don't wait a month to fix it. i would tell you not to punch the wall in the first place but i guess better to hit a wall than a person at least.

That's painted dark walnut paneling. The really ugly stuff

Pic related.

Make sure to get stuff that matches the groove pattern and take a sample to a paint place to get touch up paint

get one of these. dont worry about DUCK BRAND, there are generic versions, the patent on this shit probably ran out 99 years ago.

you put it in your wall, extend it, and pull. maybe glue it in place, even. then plaster over it, paint, and voila.maybe plaster over the whole fuckin' wall just to make it smooth and consistent.

also paint touch-ups are a meme. the age of the paint makes it basically impossible to touch up like that. just paint the whole thing. you'll have to buy a whole can of paint anyway, may as well use it all and make a fun painting day out of it.

Probably because it's textured wood, not drywall?

The patch is going to be ugly and obvious either way; may as well use the easiest tools to do it.

It's probably been painted over a million times, too; it's not like he's losing the fancy nice wood look or anything

Yes but a sheet of paneling nailed on top would be the easiest and best coverup fix, painted off white of course.

>nailed on top
too obvious. OP clearly isn't interested in preserving the integrity of the wall to be able to hang shit on it or whatever, he just wants his deposit back.

A patch on top would be the best solution normally, but it won't get his deposit back. The landlord will ask "Why is there a fucking sheet nailed to the wall? WHAT DID YOU DO!? NO DEPOSIT FOR YOU" and then OP is out a month's rent.

A plaster patch is shitty, but the landlord probably won't notice it. New tenants can still drive a little nail into it if they wanna hang stuff. It won't support a hung bookcase or some shit, but I doubt the rest of the wall would either.
