Hello fellow /diy/ers and good

I am currently in the planning phase handcrafting a makerspace for my partner's and my homestead. I have a two car garage that holds nothing but my 2009 civic hatchback, and I feel the space is wasted and wish to have an area in my home to craft to my heart's desire. Before, I was considering using our rumpus room, but it would be quite tight and my partner would have little space to work on her reclaimed wood wall art.

I would like it to be aesthetically pleasing, but pic related seems far too industrial and lifeless. I would like a workbench of quite a large size, so that I can craft my steampunk cosplay projects but it needs to be very clean and attractive so I can host my craft and microbrew socials on the weekend. I am set on an aged mahogany top with a winebottle and edison bulb chandelier as my shop light. This is as far as I have gotten in my planning.

Could you please help me crowdstorm some ideas for the rest of my makerspace area? If possible, all the crafting materials should be handsourced, as I am ethically opposed to huge conglomerate stores like Home Depot

well, hallo there, troller!
Thank you for your considered submission. Unfortunately, we feel this below usual /diy/ shitposting standards on this occasion, and we are returning unanswered for the reason(s) as noted below:
>trying too hard/10 - complete overuse of too-obvious trigger phrases.

Well excuse you.

I was led to believe that /diy/ was a haven for makers and creators. I am merely asking for ideas on how to create a space that encourages me to fulfill that part of my soul that desires to create. I am a little lost when it comes to all this because my mom was a hardworking strong single mother and was not able to teach me from experience about the manly pursiuts I am undertaking heretofore.

I am heterosexual by choice, my friend, and as manly as they come. Pic related (from my blog).

However, I am very supportive of all lifestyles.

You know, you're exactly the kind of person I hope my wife's son never encounters. But I know that's too much to hope for, as mixed race children rarely have it easy in life. It's terribly reflective of the kind of world we live in. It's no wonder that the Bill of Roghts was written on WHITE PAPER.

Why hello fellow maker!

I have just finished my small handcrafting studio (for knitting/crochet and handbeading) and love to hear about like minded souls pursuing their creative muse! I will post some pictures when I get back to my loft, but I wanted to encourage you to chase the art of manly crafting and keep us updated on the progress of your makerspace.

i know this is a troll, but craigslist and garage sales. acquiring a shop full of good tools takes time and patience unless you are willing to go to a big box and plunk down a fuck ton of money.

be willing to put some work into some of the older tools. IE new brushes for a drill, new belt for a table saw, etc.

those cabinets are sturdy but are lacking aesthetically. Buy some woodgrain contact/vinyl wrap and cover them in it, but sand down the ridges of the diamod plate first so you will get a smooth surface using 400 grit sandpaper, any finer grit would be a waste of time as the wrap will cover minor imperfections.

then distress it with some old coffee and a blowtorch.

Lets say I want to make some jewelry (Commercially), the idea would be very simple machine cut pieces that have a much more industrial feel to them, I would shot/vapour or polish the surface myself (I have a small Shotblasting shop)

My question is what are the economics of this like?

Say at first I want to test 5 or so designs with a few samples of each, in different materials (Copper, Brass, Steel, Silver), what does the process of getting them machined for me entail and cost?
