Honorable /diy/,

i come to you in the hope you'd share a fraction of your extensive kbowledge about the inner workings of things.

I am looking for a technical drawing of the mechanic that uses water flow to make a lawn sprinkler turn. If someone could enlighten me i'd be very grateful.

Yours sincerely,
Anon

You think that's how it works? I was always assuming there is a propeller kind of device inside.

a propeller is literally the opposite of what you want to do.
what you meant to say is you thought there was a turbine in there.

Are you changing your request?

Ok, i was under the asumption that turbine is the term for a device where the water flows parallel to the axis of the so called turbine. Therefore i mistakingly used the word propeller as these produce a stream parallel to their axis.

If i had to describe the pic related device i'd call it medieval millwheel.

Actually, you asked for a drawing of how they work and included a picture of a sprinkler.

The drawing I posted shows how they work. It's of a sprinkler like your picture.

Yeah, that is correct. Thank you for that.
Are you assuming that it is the same mechanism as in your pic, just fitted to a cylindrical case? The cylindrical shape of the box made me think there has to be an axis running through its center.

Just buy the fuckin thing and cut it apart.
You won't have to guess about what's inside.
