I love this bottle and its mouth. I think it will make a great laundry machine, but I have no idea how. Care to share some blueprints?

It already has a "baffle" inside in the form of that handle area, so you won't need to make that at least. You will need to cut a hole into the flat bottom and install a 4 inch PVC pipe. This threaded pipe will have a ring on the inside and outside that screw down tightly against the plastic container. Use a rubber gasket for this. The pipe will then have a screw on cap, if you can buy one that has a rubber gasket inside (you may need to make gaskets yourself from sheets of rubber or foam rubber.) Once it is water tight, you should be able to set it on its side when full of water, soap, and laundry. Then you can place it between 2 sets of casters. After that all you need is a motor large enough to easily spin the container.

This is the same sort of method used in rock tumblers. So, you can view rock tumblers online to see various methods of rotating the container. Some use pulleys and others just use a friction wheel on the motor shaft that presses directly on the container.

nice mspaint skillz, but how is the shitOPster gonna tumble the jug, like depicted in your masterpiece, when it has a handle on the side?

why make it electric?

>stuff dirty clothes in the mouth
>fill one third to half of it with water
>add laundry detergent
>put a stopper in the mouth
>put on it side and roll down a hill
>carry jug back up and roll down the hill a few more times
>use bent up coat hanger to pull clean soapy clothes out through the mouth
> rinse soap off clothes
>dry clothes

beating clothes on rocks down by the river would probably be less work

You can have it slightly tilted away from the entrance in >>1122522 so that the clothing touches the handle area and may be agitated more than if it was perfectly flat.

FYI, I just use this for camping and when the electric is out.

>cut the top off the jug just above the handle
>drill small holes 1/8'' (3mm) in the bottom of the jug
>buy a top load washing machine
>hot glue or epoxy the jug inside the washing machines tub

depending on what washing machine you bought you may have to buy some hose and jerry rig it to either the solenoid or fill spout so it fills your jug from the top.
