Anyone here have any experience in working in bronze?
Making some "Friendship blades" for close friend group (because fuck bracelets when swords are a thing).
Going to do it in bronze, because no good forge or forging equipment and bronze has character.

Basic plan is to stencil on the blade shapes onto a bronze plate, then cut, grind and sand down, work harden the blades, coat them in something to bring out the colour, then sharpen them and attach wood scales.

Are there any major steps I'm missing, or things to look out for when using bronze?

I want to make my close friend group friendship weapons out of bronze.
Will cutting each finished shape out from a bronze plate with an angle grinder, and then sanding/grinding/filing it down work as well as taking a bronze round and forging it out then sanding/grinding/filing?

Also, should I tap harden with the metal on wood, or on steel?
