Those are fairly hard to machine, IMHO. I'd suggest a Quackenbush .22LR. It's a barrel, with a housing on a swing-arm behind it. The housing has a striker inside sort of like the Glock's. It's probably less than a dozen parts including the screws.

Here, picrelated, the perfect rifle for taking care of those pesky bicyclists.
