Ridgid has all the basic stuff, but Milwaukee has by far the best lineup for tradies like plumbers. You’re going to pay, but Ridgid isn’t going to sell you shit like the PEX crimpers and the copper pipe cutters and knockout tools and all that shit.

I mean your first few years you might be able to get away with Ridgid, but when you really get into it, there’s a reason so many of the dudes use Milwaukee.

DeWalt has a pretty good lineup too and they have a lot of the specialty tools, but Milwaukee is the only one who focused on those trades while everybody else is aimed at general contractors and shit.

I wish they still made those. I really wanted to get down on the 12V Jobmax. Ryobi had the same thing in 18V and the heads were interchangeable. Ridgid had the power base in 120V, 18V, 12V, and pneumatic. They had a ratchet head for it that looked so sweet on the 12V base but after they got discontinued in stores, the $49 attachment was being sold on ebay for $150+.

Ridgid had the MegaMax or some shit too with the sawzall and SDS and I forget what other attachments. Supposedly that power base was really really powerful and the saw was on another level compared to other 18V sawzalls.

Milwaukee and DeWalt have a handful of 18V/20V specialty pressing and crimping tools for sparkies and plumbers, and they’re super expensive because they’re much more low volume tools. I always thought it would be great for tradies if they made those tools with a power base like the Jobmax and cheaper interchangeable heads because many of them seem like the same mechanism besides the jaws. The tools are like $2000+, pic related, you can see a couple different types
