Ok so, first off, not that anon but you legit sound like a degenerate bum.

However you make me laugh and I like the cut of yer jib lil fella.

Hypothetically speaking of course, I may or may not have a friend, who may have, at one time, in an alternate universe, who used dropped ceiling tiles to insulate a wooden box that housed a large inline fan, for the purpose of moving large amounts of air for completely legal reasons. In this hypothetical scenario, the fan was loud as shit and could be heard throughout both floors of a domicile. After being placed in the box, surrounded by the tiles, and the box being screwed shut, the fan could barely be heard while standing in the room it operated in.

The tiles makes a lot of dust after being as the cut edges constantly drop “shavings” whenever touched. This is easily remedied by working 100% silicone along and into the edges with a gloved hand. They can be attached to the wood with just drywall screws. Just tighten them enough to snug them into the tiles obviously.

The tiles are also fire resistant so that should be good for your gas powered hobo contraption.
