Moving the robot using individual joints using the teach mode HIGH SPEED setting. Fucks up at the end because I over ran my rotation limit on joint4

i was gonna try to make a new cable with shielding, but cutting up a serial patch cable sounds like a lot less work. thats going to be so fucking delicate a job. I cant/wont remove the encoder from motor, and the top board has a soldered flex cable attached. When I put the cable in the position like so (pic related) I get no errors or problems from that motor joint. When its in other positions, I can start it and move it a little before it fucks off. Could it also be an issue of excessive noise fucking the signal cause it to drop? or does my kinked wire theory still stand? I was doing more reading and it talks about ways to ground and filtering.

So, question, can excessive noise cause me to drop encoder signals?
I move the encoder into a position where the cable(for the most part) is not touching the body of the robot,
which is grounded to the cabinet,
which is grounded to my 3 phase converter
which is grounded to my 220v wall outlet
