I agree with your premise, but how many people are going to have a bottle of no-salt (KCl 99.9%) on their shelf? If you say "salt substitute", then you're going to have a bunch of well-hydrated dead people because they put Ms. Dash in their ORT solution.

Sodium is better than nothing.
