Very much depends on the condition of the container..

Last time I checked (maybe 2 years ago) an old 40ft container will cost about $2k.. expect a bit of rust, obviously.

Transport not included.

If you are looking for improvised living quarters, I highly recommend refrigerated truck containers.

They come with insulation, wiring and a fuse box. Very easy to convert to something livable.
