Dear /diy/,

I am a 23 year-old welding student. Prior to taking up welding, I have never really worked with my hands in my entire life. I have always been content to sit on my ass and play vidya games.

That said, I'm interested in finding a new hobby. However, I have a few restrictions: I live in an apartment, so most big hobbies are immediately out; second, I work fast food, so my funds are limited as well.

I would love to take up blacksmithing, but there's nothing in this area other than a farrier school or two, which is something I have little interest in.

So, I ask you, glorious /diy/ers, what are some fairly inexpensive, yet enjoyable hobbies that involve working with your hands in some manner?

Can you provide more information on this?
Mainly, just a detailed explanation of how to make this.
