It was confusing because I had a few different examples I was thinking of when I was at Home Depot, so I got one 2x10 and 3 2x6’s. I was originally going to do the sides with two 2x6’s and the 2x10 for the shelves, but then I saw this pic >>1745813 and wanted to go with that design. If it was all 2x10s, I could’ve hung the shelf over like an inch or two and left a little more meat cutting out the full triangle.

The lady in the paint and stain section knew absolutely nothing about exterior stuff, so I just grabbed pic related and we coated it with that. Next weekend we’re going to grab some acrylic paints (her sister is a good artist but a complete cunt, I sort of want to ask her to paint something) or maybe some spraypaint and print out some stencils of flowers or whatever because the girl likes it. I kind of regret not getting a stain, but I thought the thing would look like shit and we might need to paint the whole thing to cover up the imperfections.
