They’ll shut down a store if they hear about union talk. Yeah extra pay on weekends but you have to work every other weekend. Hope you enjoy 30 minute lunches, you get in trouble if you take a longer one too. You will get talked to if you don’t meet personal sales goals. Your employee discount is taken out of your check. The sales departments are pretty much helpless without the yard guys. Everything runs on points system of 10 points. You can get a 25 cent raise every six months if you pass a test. They are overbearing about doing the in home training for other departments. They hire a lot of mouth breathers.(most of the customers aren’t far off either)If you work 2k hours in a year you can get a bonus if your store is profitable enough. Every year the percentage of that increases by like 1.5 percent maxing out at 15% i believe it’s based on what you made in that year. It’s not a bad job if you need it just to get through school or whatever. I’d stay away from management if you don’t want to hate your life every single day. Yard is probably the most rewarding (pays the most) but you’ll be sweating and freezing your ass off. And every spring the amount of blocks, river rock,dirt and mulch you’ll load is mind blowing.

When you don’t have room for shit the only option is up.
