A silly & overcomplicated project, but it's going to be fun regardless. Putting some WS2812 LEDs & an Arduino Pro Mini in the back of my PocketCHIP, then triggering different colours/patterns by connecting a few GPIO pins on the CHIP to some digital pins on the Arduino. I know I could just use APA102, but where would be the fun in that?
