Did you by chance confuse feeling with thinking there?
Because what you write makes no sense.

I have a cheap drill press and it locks up if I try to use even quite small (1/2 inch) spade bits with it. Motor just buzzes.

Is this because crappy drill press, or because trying to do something a drill press shouldn't be used for?

If it should work fine with a better press, I'll invest. But i don't want to waste money on the upgrade if I'm doing something that's wrong anyway...

Can you take a picture of the pedal and crank area? It'll tell us a lot about what you're dealing with. Since you mention it's a 'cheaper' bike we could be dealing with anything from a magazine BB, to one-piece crankset, to plastic pedals. Advice will be different depending on what it looks like.

I've been working on this for a long time, still don't know how to make the circuit.

Details on the device
>I have a 60 watt 40kHz ultrasonic transducer. It's suppost to be in resonance with the powersupply, meaning my AC power supply has to input 40Khz.
>It's pretty much a piezoelectric tweeder
>The only info I could obtain from manufactorers is Static Capacity=3800, Resonance impedance=10-20, freq=40000Hz, Input power=60W.
>Additionally, my seller says it requires 600V excitation (Like a motor would), haven't found this info anywhere else
>Fucking China

I know makoing a 40khz 60W can be obtained with an RLC circuit (capacitor/inductor/resistor) but don't dont know how to get the values for each component.

I live in Canada, so the wall outlet is 120V rms, freq 50-60Hz, 15A

Project General

I posted this on /g/ but as it turns out, nobody there makes anything

Post whatever your working on!

I'm personally trying to decide on what to make my raspberry pi into.

so far I have
>weather station
>Using it for sensor equipment on an Ardu-rover drone to explore storm drains(checking for sufficient oxygen/poison gas
>a bitcoin Vending machine or arcade machine
>A media station for the TV i never use
any additional ideas or telling me to fuck off would be very appreciated!

I will soon be replacing the water heater for my house. This will be the first time I've ever done this, so I was wondering if there is anything I should watch out for or any tips / tricks anyone knows for taking out an old water heater and replacing it with a new one.
