I also made some fishing bobbers out of wine corks and bamboo skewers. I drilled a hole first, sliced the side into the hole, shoved the skewer into the hole then stuck the skewer into the chuck of my bench drill press. I turned the drill press on and used a Dremel and sanding strips to carve and smooth them.
