I think maybe you are misunderstanding the purpose of the w-bridge, and/or misinterpreting 'sensor'=the thin resistor.
Of which you need 4 to get a wheatstone bridge.
Also I'm pretty sure it wouldnt matter when the bed see-saws diagonally, the mere fact that the resistance changed suddenly would be the trigger.
