That's not how it works. This >>1011637 is why.

The only way you'd be able to use a shipping container underground is to anchor the bottom to raised piers then fill surrounding 1 foot airspace all around the container with concrete. You'll need to do this in shallow layers, first allowing the last layer to cure before pouring the next layer (cold joints). This will prevent the weight of the cement from crushing the sides. You won't need rebars since the entire container is a metal box. There's no worry about a chunk coming lose and squashing you and having rebar will only rust out and crack the cement prematurely. I recommend spraying the entire outside of the container with truckbed liner like Raptor brand, for rust prevention and making it watertight.

Basically, you'll be using the shipping container as a concrete form.

These are only meant to stack, where their frames take all the weight. They are not meant to have pressure on their walls or top from soil. It will cave the sides in.

The best way to actually use these in this manner is to brace them like crazy inside then pour cement over them as a structural shell then remove the bracing after the cement is cured properly.
