I got those 2 little Ryobi lamps for like $30 for the 2pk, they’re great. Last forever on a 2.0Ah pack, you can stick em anywhere, I’m tempted to buy more of their lights.

Depends how deep you want to go. Ryobi is straight, and their HP stuff is nearly as good as DeWalt if you want higher end for the tools you will use a lot. The only people who talk shit about Ryobi haven’t really used them. Every other weekender who actually owns Ryobi has been happy.

But, if you’re not going to get balls deep into it and maybe 5 tools, you might not waste much money if you stick with DeWalt. They always have sales and are available at a bunch of retailers, including some good deals on Amazon. Like if you’re patient and watch the deals, maybe you pay $110 for a DeWalt tool where the Ryobi would be $70 or like $100 with a small battery included. Or like a 7-tool combo kit, wait for one of the good sales and the DeWalt might be $400-$500, while the Ryobi is $300.

Or you could get both, go DeWalt for tools that are going to be run hard and Ryobi for random shit. The one thing about Ryobi is you can’t beat their selection of 18V random shit you would use around the house like a pet hair stick vacuum or a pool scrubber. I got sucked into Ryobi after already having Ridgid because of their selection of yard tools, and it’s nice to have the option to buy 18V lights that aren’t totally overpriced like the $150 Yellow or Red stuff. And the little 10” fan, Milwaukee wants >$100, Ridgid is up there too, but I got a Ryobi for <$40 with a battery and charger, and there’s no way Milwaukee is putting the R&D into a plastic 10” fan that would warrant that price tag.

Ummm pretty much every brand has cordless SDS type drills.

The cool thing about modern lithium ion powered tools is that you can easily swap batteries. Many kits come with 2, 3, or even 4 batteries to start! So when you’ve done 2-3 hours of heavy work and the first battery is gettin low, you can swap it out for a second battery, and proceed to stick the first battery on the charger and it will be at 4 bars before your lunch break!
