It may not be clear, but these eye bolts are threaded (at least the ones on my identical press are). When you choose springs and hardware, be sure to provide a lot of adjustment so that the springs will easily retract the heavy jack when you open the release valve. I have to help mine a bit with some upward force from my hand, but once it is fully raised the springs keep it there because the eyebolts had enough adjustment. The main thing to get right is the length of the springs. If they are too long you might not be able to adjust them adequately. If they are too short they might be overstressed if you have to jack too far.
