There's no focus to adjust with pinholes since there's no lens. The hole needs to be sized correctly to correspond with the focal length. Otherwise, the circles-of-confusion will make the image blurrier than it should be. If you have a pinhole body long enough, you can use an iris that changes diameter so you can set the pinhole size to the focal length. That would allow for a properly "focused" zoom pinhole.

As for micro level photos using a pinhole, that would be rather difficult if not impossible. You can sorta get away with macro level photos, but they are terrible quality. Telephoto is of course very easy.

As mentioned above, if you use the Pringles can method of adjusting the zoom or use a bellows, you can make a very simple zoom pinhole by making a slider like this(pic). It is a strip of metal flashing with different sized pinholes that correspond with set focal lengths on a macro bellows. The whole thing is attached to a camera body cap.

>it would work best if the inside was black.
"Flocking" is the term for that. A cheap source is black craft foam sheets, but a better source is press-adhesive black velvet flocking for jewelry box liners. A roll of the jewelry box flocking goes a long ways in DIY applications.

Here's the making of the pinhole slider cap and using it on the macro bellows. I still need to make a proper set of pinholes so the images will be sharp.
