Thank you! I'll certainly keep these three rules in mind when considering my decision.

As a requirement, though, I'd like to have some kind of christmas lights strung up in erry room, warm colors in the bedroom and cool colors in the living room. I've been looking into power saving alternatives (the LED lightbulb thread, Fluorescent lightbulbs, low-flow water faucets, etc.) and I'm wondering if this would be a good idea at all (I'm not sure as to how much wattage 70 count christmas lights cost as opposed to a single 60 watt/125 watt bulb) or if there are better alternatives. I'd like to get a very chill, calm environment though. Minimalism was a goal from the beginning, though.

Hello everyone, I'm looking for ideas and tips on making my room feel like an ambient space portal type thing. Along the lines of the picture I've posted, Has anyone done something similar to their rooms and if so what things did you include?
