I recommend using a set that provides multiple nuts and washers.
The sets I use install in the tank with a nut and washer on the bottom of the tank.
The tank will hold water before placing on the stool.
The extra nuts and washers hold the assembly to the stool.
I replace any I find like your set with the kind I'm talking about.
I never have leaks from tank bolts after doing this.

I have a question about watertightness in outdoor electrical enclosures.

For a hobby, I'm learning ladder logic and working with PLCs, 4-20mA transducers, DIN mount hardware, motor switching and things of that nature.
All of this is to control the outdoor irrigation well pump in my back yard using an electric pressure switch instead of the mechanical diaphragm-and-springs type of pressure switch. I know the PLC solution is way more expensive, but I'm doing it to gain experience, not save money. Also I want to set the kick-in and kick-out pressure levels digitally.

Anyway a buddy gave me a nice big gasketed enclosure for free, weather resistant, that does NOT have a mounting plate inside to bolt a din rail to.

If I bolted a din rail to the backside of the enclosure, thus penetrating the enclosure, then those bolt holes could allow water ingress.

So does there exist any hardware out there to put water bolt holes through enclosures, similar to how tank-to-bowl toilet bolts are made? I'd prefer not to use sealant (silicone, polyurethane) if off-the-shelf hardware for this application already exists. I googled around for things like watertight enclosure bolts or gasketed bolts and nothing that looked relevant was coming up, mostly blog shit about waterproof mobile phones.

I already know that there are cable glands for making this sort of watertight connection around cable penetrations.
