/diy/ - Do It Yourself

/diy/, I would like to build a homemade instrument of some sort. Something primitive that, at the very least, will keep it's tune and won't be hard to play. I had this idea to build an upright bass using an old bass drum for the body and then a wooden handrail for the neck. I figured this would be more effective and friendlier for the hand than just a wooden plank.

I still wanna do that idea but I might wanna see what my options are. Do you have any ideas or do you know where I could find blueprints or some shit for this?
