Yup. And it’s not like the button on the Knipex is hard to press. Milwaukee’s head geometry is goofy and they added the reaming function to the end of the handles which means they don’t have an anti-pinch handle like most of the other versions of the tool.

The one thing I like about those Milwaukee pliers is the grip. Might be my favorite grip of any pliers I’ve used, and I don’t really care for most of the larger “comfort grips” because the geometry is never quite there for everybody’s hands, plus it makes the grip worse when you’re working at odd angles.

Their channellocks are just OK. For the money, I end up getting tried and true Channellock brand if I’m at Home Depot. The knockoff Cobras are retarded when you actually compare them to the Knipex they copied. The shape of the handle is messed up. I like their grips a lot though.

Never bought the screwdrivers because real premium screwdrivers made in a first world country aren’t much more money. I know the Fastbacks are nice except I can’t manage to kill my Fatmax box cutters. The wrenches and automotive type tools look quite nice but expensive for shit made in China.

I like the Shockwave bits though. They hold up fo a lot of abuse.

My 2¢

Damn, I have been curious about these. They looked ok, they’re not cheap, but they had pretty fair prices on 16”+ channellocks.

I would say you should post it on the reviews on HF’s website, but they edit away bad reviews.

I’m open to the Irwins not being as good as the Cobras. It was a 2pk for $15 at Lowe’s. I’m sure they aren’t as hard as the Red ones, but they don’t seem to be cheese. I got the Knipex shortly after the Irwins, so I don’t use the blue ones a lot, but they don’t seem bad. I prefer the ratcheting joint to the Knipex where you have to press the button, my biggest concern is the strength of that joint when you’re putting a lot of pressure on the tool.

I got the Milwaukee ones as well, that pair stays in my backpack at work, and I have been using those quite a bit without any problems. Definitely not soft potmetal teeth, but the shape of the jaws and stuff aren’t as good as the Cobras. The Milwaukee grips are nice, probably my favorite out of the 3.

I would say get down on 2 of the pliers wrenches, 7” and 10”, and then get on 3 sizes of Cobras to start, 7”, 10”, and 12”+

I hate to admit that a meme is good, but they really do destroy the competition when you have been using Channellock 440s for years, and the Cobras are all-around better to use than the knockoffs from other good brands because of a bunch of small touches.

Probably plumbing mostly. I’m always using them at home on my sprinkler system, fucked up automotive fasteners, and nuts and bolts when I can’t be assed to grab the proper wrench.

Old school flat jaw Channellocks were much more limited because they will fuck up lots of things before getting them to turn, but the Cobras and Alligators are so damn good that it becomes a much more useful tool.

And then there’s the pliers wrench, basically a replacement for a crescent wrench.

Their grips are still my favorite of any brand of pliers. I have no clue what they use, but they have the best combination of a little sticky and soft but not that shit that gets tacky after a little oil and they’re comfy without being all fat like some comfort grips.

That’s the only upside. The button is retarded and the jaws have a goofy shape.

It’s fine. The Irwins are affordable and pretty good too. They will get the job done around the house.

There is something about the 7-1/4” Cobras though, that’s the one sitting on my workbench that I reach for first.

How much do you want to spend?

SK makes some real nice wrenches. They’re not cheap, but they’re quality and not a ripoff like the tool trucks.

>crescent wrenches
Why?

Channies, gotta say the Knipex Cobras, everybody is trying to copy them but the others don’t seem to hold up.

Dykes and stripper, can’t really go wrong with the Knipex, their cutters are super popular, and any of the US electrical brands as well for the strippers like Klein, Ideal, Greenlee.

They’re not so terrible.

Knipex just came out with a thin Cobra too. I want to try the Raptors, they only come in one size but supposedly there is some black magic to them and they just work.
