>Which trades have the highest proportion of boomers who will need to be replaced?
manual machinists with wide knowledge of how to work many different materials and what tools to use, also the ability to make tools, as you said, like a tool maker.
and speaking of replacing boomers ...

I worked as a chimney sweep for a bit, got loads of business and discovered it was because the local one died just before I started. F. money was really good but the soot gives you testicle cancer after prolonged exposure, so I'd advise wearing something like full hazmat. I got out of it for that reason. if you have your own vehicle you can cover a large areas and make £40 per job easily and knock out one chimney an hour. 8 hours x £40 = £320/day. but you never know what you will encounter, so some jobs take longer, some stoves are really inaccessible. some chimneys need work, and you need to know about the construction of fireplaces and chimneys and be able to tell the customer if theirs is safe.

what can I say? I don't feel the need to compensate for anything.
and also only needed to turn tiny things when I bought it. I've actually turned a 6 inch diameter part on it, so it's not too shabby for it's size.
