Burying a shipping container is fine, provided you have enough extension cords. Picrel is an example of what happens if you don't have enough extension cords.

I'm trying to build a tornado shelter / nuclear bunker ect and I have been looking at 40 foot shipping containers but it seems they commonly buckle under the weight of the dirt from the sides and the tops. So then I looked at concrete preformed Box Culvert but I think they are way too expensive. So finally I have landed on 10 foot diameter 40 foot long culvert pipe. Is Culvert pipe really that strong? how expensive is it for my underground shelter bunker? thanks
