36V from 4 9V batteries power a switching car battery charger to step it down to 14, a PWM generator then sends pulses to a repurposed EMI filter coil with some kind of brass protrusion which could be used to confuse some kind of Hall sensor.

The least plausible part is the brass thing since it's not magnetic
