I work at a boat store / SCUBA shop. We sell inflatable boats such as Zodiac, Artigiana Batteli, Mercury, Avon, Achilles, etc.

Pic related, my dream boat.

I replaced what I could with the carb. The float needle was worn, so I replaced that. The float spring was absent, so I added one. I also replaced the float pivot pin and the cork float itself.

I also put on new gaskets. I had no idea what the torque was for the bolts, so I torqued them in a star pattern to about 20 lb-ft.

As you can note as well, I'm missing the fuel line between the mechanical pump and the carb. It crumbled the moment I touched it. I'm going to replace it tomorrow probably.

All in all, I have about $250 into this outboard so far.

I think after about another $50, I should have a good solid runner for this summer to crash around Lake Michigan with!

It'll be no Zodiac CZ7, but it'll do...I'm okay with 20 mph on a plane. If I can't manage that, I'll add some trim tabs.

I wouldn't want to explore the ocean on that!

I sell inflatable boats and SCUBA gear for a living currently. Thus, this is my current dream boat:

But, I lack $150,000.
