People seem to love those Uni-T meters. Those Klein meters are build to withstand riding along in your tool bag so that is nice. I have no complaints about that Southwire clamp either, it has the rubber grippy coating like the Klein but not as thick and protected. I think those meters might be built by the same manufacturer.

Fluke is best because of one thing: with diagnosis and especially electricity, you want a tool/brand you can trust. The Walmart meter that lives on my workbench has been giving me good readings so far but I can always double check with the Klein.

Pic related was like $15 on Amazon. I’m sure way cheaper direct from China. It’s not as accurate as a real bench power supply but it’s pretty close.

The power supply is fun. But I just posted the other thing, you can get a buck-boost converter from Amazon for $10-$20 and it will work pretty well. This one isn’t as accurate as the power supply, but it seems to be within like 0.2V/A. I believe this one takes 5V-30V DC input, so it will run off one Li-Ion but not as accurately. Works well off this 18V drill battery pack. You could probably run it from a 9V battery or a USB charger hacked apart but might be limited to lower currents.
