I guess i would like to know more about what certain components do in a circuit. Suppose you want to build a pedal from scratch that is completely tailored to your taste (be it a fuzz pedal, compressor, wah-wah, whichever...) without any pre-existing schematics. You would have to know what kind of componets to put in, to get that desired sound you want. Know what i mean?
