This whole post is laughable.
OP already spent a grand on a tool set, he is willing to return it and spend even more because he wants it to last longer, he knows nothing about tools and is just starting out with a few light projects.
Its reasonable to point out longevity comes from corded tools, and that things like a circular saw should be corded. Its also reasonable to post links to a decent drill from the store he frequents.

You know whats not reasonable advice?
Telling him to go rummaging around looking for old beat up tools under the guise of them being dirt cheap. Tools that will need new cords and regreased and whatever else maintenance to be done, without knowing its prior history.
And we all know you gave him this advice because you personally are poor as shit.
Just because you scrape by doesnt mean everyone else does.

Did you ever end up selling that Cutco knife? Was it enough for you to make rent?
