Hello, droidfag here.
I'm (really) starting to get my hands dirty with my Android phone (htc Desire X), and I've come to the point where I fancy making a custom rom.
I already have a nandroid backup, but also kernel sources in case they're needed.
My idea is making a kind of GPE out of it, just to get a grasp of the process.

I'm looking for some guidance, or maybe some reference for good material (I've only found tutorials on XDA which seem to be written by south-asian teenagers who use discontinued tools to automate some degree of customization).
