I grew up in a BIG house, and my parents allowed me to be a pack rat and to store stuff at their house for years.
They moved into a small house, I live in a small house.

So I piled up 20+ years worth of stuff I had been saving "just in case" into my small ass house. It looked like a hoarders house but I felt just like you do, hard to let stuff go.

Then one day a switch in my brain flipped.
I realized that what I thought was "good" material that I would use in the future, it was actually junk from when I was 16 and had no money. I had to scrounge and pinch pennies hard back then, nowadays I will drop money into a project without thinking which would have been unfathomable to younger me.
I also have way higher standards, and much more skill, with much better tools than I did back then too.

So I looked at everything I had laying around, I thought of all the projects I have and want to make in the future.
75-80% of the stuff was not nice enough to actually use in ANY project I had.
I would actually be ashamed of using some of the scrap I had laying around.

I looked at some of my old incomplete projects too, they were half baked from the beginning.

I kept stuff that was ACTUALLY worth keeping, stuff I would gladly put into my new projects, and threw the rest into the dumpster.
For instance, I had a box of probably 50 different wall warts from different shit, I had a whole garbage bag of PC molex power cords I got from a computer lab who remodeled.
I would have spliced that shit back in the day, its 100% nigger rigging to me now. It all went straight into the trash

Red Pill me on PEX. my house has copper pipes running on the outside after the previous owner had to have some work done. I know that rats love PEX, but I hate my pipes on the outside looking in.
