I had to go check, mine are these as well. Bought them three maybe four years ago.

I was taught to let the car rest on the jack stands, give it a good push from three or four directions, then shove the spare tire under. I also tend to leave the jack extended but barely touching the jack point.
The reason for leaving it resting on the stands rather than the jacks, is that way you make sure the stands are properly positioned, rather than risk them shifting as the failing jack drops the car onto them.
