So, I'm going with the modified suicide cord method, I took a dryer cord and hooked the terminals to the two hots in in my old onan CCCk5 and the neutral bus in the genny's jbox. Plugged the dryer cord into a dryer outlet in garage. Garage 220 circuit has 30amp two pole breaker.

Should I bother grounding the gen to the Ufer ground in the garage???

So here's the plan: power goes out at 16:00- 17:00, When PGE shuts me down, I throw the main, plug my sui-cord in, flip 30amp 2 pole for garage outlet on, start genny, (oh forgot I will turn off all the loads in the house. Then once gen fires up turn on loads I need (refers, lights etc.
