I don't know if NetaAnon is still here, but is industrial automation/ PLC programming as lucrative as the rumors say?

The information from the companies themselves make it seems like you start at ~$12/hr and then can work your way up to ~$40 with school and experience, but then there are people on reddit and such insisting that you just rake in money.
