the plywood usually have these mounted from the top side so its hard to replace them unless you pull the fabric off

what i would do is make a piece of plywood that is a tad smaller than existing, add 4 new t nuts and then screw that piece of plywood to the old plywood with a shitload of short sheetrock screws or something, make any sense?
