Thanks for the advice. I will have to buy some packs of water bottles tomorrow just to be prepared, because this is just the beginning of the thunderstorm season.
I got a flashlight ready with me, cellphone fully charged as well as my tablet.

ANYWAY, so one of my concerns with the instrument now, as a purely electronic instrument is that sine waves might sound very boring. I could always use my guitar effects pedals to make it sound cooler. But, what if I could make it sound more natural in general? IE, how do I make an electronic signal be harmonically rich like a physical phenomenon, short of computerizing the whole thing?

Thats where my original idea comes into play. What if I just impart the electronic signal onto a guitar string, and then have another magnetic pick up detect how that string vibrates?

So, for example, the Solafide machine produces 200 hertz. The 200 hertz are blasted onto the string magnetically, physically shaking the string at 200 hertz. In the process the string produces a number of harmonics, like 300 hertz, 400 hertz, 500 hertz etc. Then I just listen to what that sounds like with another magentic coil. What I should hear is exactly what the Solafide sounds like WITH harmonics.
