This should be the only scripts you need to make a simple point and click adventure game in flash, I know, I've done it before. If you aren't familiar with basic level coding then you might want to learn those basics first, or simply look at the online Action Script documentation.

Here's an open-source engine you can download and mess with. Open-source really helped me when I was starting out, try taking it apart for self study.
