You misunderstand. To "magnify" the the subject, you make the tube longer to spread the cone of light out. Here's an example. This is a 2.4:1 macro photo of a millimeter ruler. The tube for this pinhole is around 150mm long I think. That same pinhole, when used directly inside the camera as seen in >>1719352 can't hope to magnify like this.
