car batteries have incredible amp hours though and should work if they'd be kept between 80-100% that would leave you with about 20 ah for each battery used though i have run my skateboard at 12v and can confirm that it's barely enough. kept me going at 7km/h max which would be fine for a bike equipped with pedals but i'd recommend running two of them

depends on your location, infrastructure and use case. also do you plan to leave it unattended outside of stores? if you need more range than 20km i'd go with gas because batteries cost a fortune.

i'd love to get an electric mountain bike though. being out in nature with a 90 decibel monster isn't too peaceful. also, creeping up on people who have never seen an electric locomotive aside from a nissan leaf is pretty fun.
