>That tar ain't fucking water proof as you'd think
on the actual legit office tower buildings like I was referring to, they actually DON'T leak. The tar glues the felt (tar paper) together, and if applied properly, doesn't leak.

One interesting bit of trivia. On the most expensive deals, it would call for three layers of felt. Now think about that. Do you do the entire roof once, then again, then again, providing three actual independent layers? Nope, their are a lot of lines on the felt showing how much to overlap for one, two or three layers, so you go across the roof one time, you just overlap different amounts. As a result, if one of the layers had a "fish mouth" that was bad enough, there would be a direct path through all three layers for water to get through. But highly trained professionals like our crew (an astonishing number were recent ex-cons; Baker had a deal with Central Prison or something) would repair the fishmouths before the final layer of tar and gravel went on.
