So today I swapped an outlet box because the original one was fucked, this is the first time I've done anything electrical before. There were two sets of wires going into the outlet, so I took plenty of pictures when I was taking it apart and made sure everything got hooked up the same way. I tested everything and it seems to work fine. The question I have is more of a safety concern, it is this: The two copper wires were twisted together and a piece of metal seemed to be crimped on to secure them in place. I was able to shimmy it off with some pliers but I did not replace this crimped piece. They are currently just twisted together. Is this okay? Sorry if my question is not clear, I'm a dumb fuck when it comes to any electrical work. Picrel is almost exactly what I took off.
