I made pic related as a general purpose bench for wood and metalwork, heavy as fuck and solid as a rock. But, as stated, your intended use case will define how it needs to be built and the materials you need. A bench for electronics will be vastly different from one for cabinet work.

A fucking bench, something practical, lasting, and actually worth some fucking pride, unlike your piece of shit. I bet those eyebolts aren't even welded closed to prevent them opening under load, there's not pivots to prevent the chains from twisting, and I bet they have about 10mm of thread, which will see them work loose out of the timber after about three strikes (implying you're using them for anything other than impressing the kids at school, no professional dojo would let them near the joint)
