i have never used that.
silicone caulk is my favorite because it is rubber. upon using it, it will vulcanize and it will always be flexible, and never crack or crumble.

polyurathane is good for many things to, but i have never used it in plumbing. if my memory serves right it tends to harden...

your house probably has a trunk and branch design for water supply. which means that there is a main line(a trunk) that runs across the house and has many smaller lines (branches) that go to individual faucets. the main line may be corroded or it may be the individual faucets. pic related.try the areators first. they are usually the simplest thing to try. then work your way back to the main line
