From your pic I'd say, "Needs more heatsink."
Find a piece of aluminum the size of the board everything is mounted on.
Move everything to the aluminum plate.
(don't use the small, finned heatsink)
Use thermal paste for the rectifiers.

All-in-all, looks like a very effective battery eliminator.
