Whats the absolute cheapest way to make an offroad sleeper trailer?

Those bougie "overland" trailers are going for 20 grand, which is absurd. All I need is a lightweight trailer I can pull behind my 4x4 rig on some mild trails and camp in. Just room to sleep, some storage and protection from the elements.

I thought about buying a cheap harbor freight utility trailer, and going to work with a welder. I'd throw on some bigger tires for ground clearance.
